the teenager and the particular high school or college. Dr.
Karr has extensive knowledge and experience with all local
high schools and many colleges and universities locally, regionally
and nationally. He is in a unique position to evaluate this
important issue, make recommendations and evaluate ongoing
progress as change occurs.

Residential
Treatment Evaluations
It is almost always better for a teenager to remain within
the home than be placed in a residential facility. SFIA
has numerous programs that ‘mirror’ the best
of wilderness and residential settings.
To determine whether
or not out-of-home placement is a necessity, a careful
and thorough evaluation should be made, including
the assessment of other options. The Institute, its programs
and affiliates, is an ideal place to obtain this evaluation
and the professional advice and recommendations that go with
it.
